A deck adds usable outdoor living space, and the right railing makes it safe and finished. CasaMás Construction builds composite and wood decks, covered and multi-level decks, stair systems, and cable, metal, or glass railings — interior and exterior — across Utah, engineered for local snow loads and built to Wasatch Front codes.

Who it’s for

Great for homeowners adding a deck after a kitchen or dining-room expansion, walkout basements that need a deck and stair system above, homes with Wasatch or mountain views meant to be enjoyed outdoors, and properties replacing failing wood railings with cable, metal, or glass — including interior loft and stairwell railings as part of a remodel.

What’s included

Composite decks

Low-maintenance, fade- and stain-resistant boards built for Utah weather.

Wood decks

Classic cedar or treated-wood decks, sealed and finished.

Covered decks & shade structures

Roofs, pergolas, and shade so you can use the deck all season.

Multi-level & two-story decks

Decks that step with your yard or stack above a walkout basement.

Stair systems

Code-compliant stairs connecting deck, yard, and grade.

Cable railings

Thin stainless cable that keeps the view open.

Metal / aluminum railings

Durable, low-maintenance railings in modern finishes.

Glass railings

Clear panels for an unobstructed mountain view.

Interior railings

Loft and stairwell railings to match a remodel.

Deck refinishing & board replacement

Refresh or repair an aging deck and swap failing boards.

Frequently asked questions

When’s the best time to build a deck in Utah?

Spring and fall are ideal for framing — milder temperatures and drier ground. We build year-round and can schedule your project so it’s ready for the season you want to use it.

Do you handle permits in Salt Lake, Utah, Davis, Weber, and Tooele counties?

Yes — we handle deck permitting as part of your project across all five counties, when allowed by local city rules.

Composite vs. wood — which holds up better in Utah weather?

Composite resists Utah’s sun, snow, and temperature swings with less maintenance and no refinishing; quality wood costs less up front but needs periodic sealing. We’ll walk through the trade-offs for your budget and look.

What are the code-required railing heights and baluster spacing in Utah?

Utah follows the IRC: home guardrails are generally required at 36 inches, with baluster spacing that won’t pass a 4-inch sphere. We build to current Wasatch Front code and confirm specifics with your city.

How long does a typical deck build take?

Most decks take about one to three weeks of on-site work once permits are issued, depending on size, levels, and railing type. We give you an estimated schedule with your written estimate.
